The Sams in Winston-Salem, NC in 2006. Sam's house is next door to the blue house behind the stop sign. I lived a block the other way. I fled Winston-Salem after Sam's memorial and I haven't been back. I don't think I can face it.

- "Any questions?" and "Quite lovely"= Said after a particularly good performance.
- "Rang" and "stang"= Two different ways of accenting a guitar chord.
- 'I am an equal opportunity offender'
- A Hat= Any expert on nothing with an opinion on everything. ("If I have to listen to one more Hat this afternoon, I'm closing the store and going home.")
- A Suit= A business person
- Acoustic windows = manual crank windows on a car
- Beef= Anything eaten or drained of particular intensity. ("That glass seems a bit dry; let me pour you some beef.")
- Bending Wire = playing guitar (properly)

- Horrifying
- It's just a corner, Sid; knock it out. = tilting moonshine jar to side so it only touches one corner of bottom; means it's a swallow.

- Kennedy's head= Anything to do with the assassination surrounding President John F. Kennedy - the conspiracy theories surrounding that event were one of Moss' great obsessions.
